God may support Proposition 8. Constitutionalists should not.

God may have issues with gay marriage but Constitutionalists should not.   California’s Proposition 8 was overturned.  Proposition 8 denies gays the right to marry each other.

If God is angry with gays he will deal with them in his way and in his time.  How gays face God and God looks at gays is an issue for gays and God, not for me.

I do not believe that our Constitution should be construed to limit a contract among consenting adults when that contract does not directly and negatively impact those outside the contract.  Family, friends, neighbors, and society are not directly impacted by the marriage contract between two gays.  Family, friends, neighbors, and society may not like gay marriage, they may strongly oppose it and find the entire concept of gay marriage morally offensive, but those feelings they hold are feelings of choice.  They are not harmed.

Note, the initiative in California was put in place by election.  That should not be.  This was a case for the courts.  We can not allow the will of the masses to override the Constitutional rights of individuals.  The primary role of the Constitution is to protect the minority from the majority.

The U.S. and world economies are in a terrible mess and our government actions keep making it worse. The thugocracies of North Korea and Iran are building their nuclear capabilities and we continue to send billions of petro dollars to terrorist supporting nations.  All while Americans are caught up on a presidential cult of personality and bureaucratic growth that threatens to stagnate the nation into permanent decline.

Can we please move on?
