I have heard quite a bit of talk lately about “fairness” as a reason for ending the Bush tax cuts for those considered “rich.” Fairness toward those of lower incomes is considered the issue here.
Folks, fairness, in this case, should be defined as the best approach to stimulating the economy and generating jobs. There are a lot of us out here that need jobs. If the best method of stimulating job growth is to end the tax cuts, fine. On the other hand, if the best method is to let the so-called rich keep the tax cuts, then that is fine.
Me? I say let them keep their tax cuts. There are an awful lot of small businesses amidst the so called rich. Taxes create bureaucracy and bureaucrats. Small businesses create jobs.

…and lower the deficit how? The bureaucrats that are now employed will be unemployed. If some of the tax cuts could sunset for people who would continue to spend, presumably the most well-off, wouldn’t that allow a few more people to keep their jobs? On the state level, they’re cutting budgets and firing teachers, something I know you oppose, but where should they cut? And, now with less revenue, more importantly, where will they cut?
