As an update to my earlier piece on Shirley Sherrod. I am watching coverage of the controversy on CNN. During the period between 8 pm to 8:20 I watched a spokesperson for the NAACP and commentator Roland Martin attempt to dodge blame for accusing Sherrod of racism. No word yet from Obama.
They all need to be straight forward and quit dodging- they were very wrong in their accusations and Sherrod deserves an apology. They were not duped and did not lack information. They had the video posted by Brietbart which is the same video I used to write my earlier post. That video was enough to see that Sherrod is not a racist, or at least enough to cause doubts about racist claims…..Common sense says to verify before making such harsh accusations.

Don’t hold your breath. Throwing Black women under the bus is a time honored tradition in the Black community.
Divide and conquer a tried and true conservative tradition. No one has thrown black women under the bus. Black men and women are intelligent enough to realize they are in the same boat together.
Roland you are beginning to lack credibility. When a person makes a mistake they should apologize for that. I now equate you with a FOX NEWS reporter. Remember they would not apologize either after knowing the truth. Expected more from you!
Um, what are you talking about?
Yesterday Roland Martin told Shirley Sherrod that a white news director told him he would not hire him for a job because he was black. Mr. Martin needs to name the white news director because at this point we are not sure what he said is true and this needs to be checked out and the white news director who allegedly said it should be exposed.
Odd how this has become all about the NAACP and the Obama administration rush to judgment and not about the racist right wing teabag blogger and his supporters who started it all.
Roland needs to apologize. I listened to him try to dodge the issue by talking about HIS particular situation (which to me is irrelevant in this case). Bottomline: He was wrong about this woman and he needs to swallow his pride and admit it. Otherwise, he’s just another loud mouth in the news in my book.
Listening to Roland Martin it appears he has become the new “Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-in” Show.
I agree. Martin and NAACP are just Stepin Fetchit Negroes
Roland Martin has lost credibility with me. He owes Shirley Sherrod an apology for what he said about her and he owes her an apology for the way he spoke to her. He totally disrepected the woman and he should be ashamed of himself. He doesn’t have to worry about me watching his antics on television anymore. I will not watch him.
I agree with you fully. I have lost all respect for Roland Martin after the Sherrod situation. He to was wrong nut he would own up to it and say i was wrong, and apologize. He was also very rude to her during that interview. What she has suffered ( as a child losing her father ) and what she has done since speaks volumes of this woman, and does not even compare to his little “Job Situation” experience. I am done with Roland.
Obama is the biggest racist out there. This article is 1 example. Taxing tanning salons (now how many black folks use them …hmmmmmmm 0%) is another. Think about it people.
It appears that YOU might be the biggest racist of them all. You feel the notion to link this situation directly towards president Obama. Obviously you didn’t vote for him. Which that was your preference, What did he have to do with this? NOTHING! This is a issue concerning a white man who wants to make false claims to keep the BLACK vs. WHITE is alive.
Some else is posting garbage with my name. I truly hope that this person does not really share a name with me.
Wikipedia states: “Martin was born in Houston, Texas where he attended Jack Yates High School. In 1987, he entered Texas A&M University on an academic scholarship, where he received his bachelor’s degree in 1991. . .” He claimed on CNN in the Shirley Sherrod discussion that he was rejected for a job in 1989 by a “white” news director when he was the best qualified for the job. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, he must have meant 1999. I know how the power system works and without at least a baccalaureate degree, women and minorities have generally not considered the “best qualified candidate” in my lifetime.
