What if the state-of-the-art in things cool was to make your arrival in an electric car? What if you invited guests to your home and showed off by displaying solar panels, wind turbines, and other devices because they made your home fashionable? What if the most fashionable homes in your neighborhood were powered with solar roof panels and wind turbines, even for just a portion of their electricity? What if celebrities arrived at the Oscars, Emmy’s Golden Globes, etc. in electric cars?
Yes, it would cost more, but people are willing to pay a lot of money for fashion/style/brand above what they will pay for pure function.
I believe that designers and marketers can do more today to promote alternative energy than technologists, and far more than politicians.
