Perhaps a better way to settle that deal would have been a run-off election a few weeks afterwards. The results would have been much different than the original election, due to the “riding the coattails” (is that even a word) effect Obama had on the public voting. But that’s not the playing field that’s in effect in Minnesota, so no use in speculating what may or may not have happened.
