CPI-M procession: Meanwhile, the State Committee of the CPI-M will take out a procession tomorrow in protest against the killing of journalist Gauri Lankesh in Bengaluru yesterday. Gauri Lankesh lives on in our hearts.

Mumbai: Senior journalist associated with NDTV Ravish Kumar on Wednesday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to unfollow the people who are abusing Gauri Lankesh and are celebrating her brutal murder.

Gauri Lankesh was actively working with the Karnataka government to bring Naxalites into the mainstream, an initiative that hadn't gone down well with them, Indrajit said.

"People say that the Prime Minister is quiet and Prime Minister has not said anything".

Lankesh was shot dead by unidentified assailants at her residence in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

Chennai journalists gathered at the Press Club to condemn the murder.

Echoing her views, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi asserted that anybody who speaks against the ideology of BJP and RSS, is "pressured, beaten, attacked and even killed".

No deadline has been fixed for the SIT, but they have been asked to take up the work immediately, said Siddaramaiah, who heads a Congress government. "The point is the entire ideology is to silence voices", Gandhi said. Karnataka Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy has pointed out that it is premature to hold anyone responsible for the murder and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced a special investigation.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday sought a report from Karnataka government on the killing of journalist Gauri Lankesh in Bengaluru. "The Chief Minister has said that those responsible would be caught and punished".

The senior BJP leader said that law and order is the responsibility of the Karnataka government.

"Apart from handing over Ganapathy's case to CBI, the court commented on the investigation process of state government".
