That, combined with a history of nagging injuries, recently prompted the Saints to consider trading him, the New Orleans Advocate reported Monday.

The New Orleans Saints have fired their two team orthopedists, according to ESPN, after the duo wrongly diagnosed cornerback Delvin Breaux's leg injury.

Breaux has missed the last two weeks while nursing his leg. Breaux will have to undergo surgery and if not for the misdiagnosis he could have done so already.

Payton met with the Saints on Tuesday to discuss the situation.

"I think it's not one event, it probably builds up over a period of time", coach Sean Payton said when asked about the decision to dismiss the doctors. While we were surprised, we will respect the decision of the Saints' leadership. There is already some interest from other teams around the league.

"He made that promise to the team".

"Dr. Suri will still remain as the Pelicans' physician, and Ochsner Health System will remain an official sponsor of both the New Orleans Saints and the New Orleans Pelicans", Ochsner stated in a response to an Associated Press inquiry.

The Saints will face the Chargers in their second preseason game on Sunday. The fracture is just below the plate from the broken fibula that Breaux suffered last season, according to the report. It was reported earlier this week that the Saints were shopping Breaux, but the missed diagnosis has given Breaux a legit reason for missing practice.
