Barbara married Frank Sinatra in 1976, and their marriage, which lasted 22 years before Frank died of a heart attack in 1998, was the longest of Sinatra's four marriages, TMZ reported.

Barbara married Frank in 1976 and remained his wife for almost 22 years - the longest of his 4 marriages.

The Missouri native was actively involved with the center until as recently as 2016, and continued to host galas, luncheons and the annual Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament.


Barbara Sinatra, a former Las Vegas showgirl, famed philanthropist and widow of singer Frank Sinatra, died at her home in Rancho Mirage, California, on Tuesday, July 25. Her first marriage collapsed when she was caught having an affair with Zeppo Marx, an actor and comedian. Though they knew each other for some time before things became romantic, the change was sudden and took place while Barbara was still married.

The spokesman, in an official release from the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center, said she died of natural causes and was surrounded by friends and family at the time of her death.

"Barbara started raising funds for [the center] in 1985 with Frank's support", Thoresen told The Desert Sun. I think it's because we were friends before anything romantic happened. She had one son, Robert Marx, with a far less successful lounge singer named Bob Oliver. "It's something you can't explain why or how it happened". "You worry about new ones, '", Barbara previously said. The couple founded the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center in 1986.The center provides services for abused, neglected and at risk children.
