Watch the Launch of The Next HTC Flagship Phone

HTC U Ultra's camera

The HTC U 11 has a single-lens camera

More details regarding the smartphone's hardware as well as pricing will be revealed tomorrow during the HTC media event that will be held simultaneously in New York, London, and Taipei.

Under this all-glass shell is the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor which is one of the fastest chips now on the market.

The HTC U11 comes equipped with a 5.5-inch QHD display with dual pixel technology. HTC said the U11 was "the highest rated smartphone ever in DxOMark history". Its dual-LED flash helps with natural skin tones. On the front, we have a 16MP selfie shooter with a f/2.0 aperture.

You can make use of Edge Sense when the phone is wet or when you're wearing gloves, and the pressure shortcuts can be assigned to any app you like. Do you find it interesting or silly?

As the name suggests, this is the direct successor to the 10, but it's also a member of the new HTC U family, which started with the U Play and U Ultra back in January.

We've been hearing about HTC possibly launching a new flagship smartphone and sure enough the company delivered. However, the specifications of the device are now leaked out along with the design of the device. The HTC U11 will be made available in Amazing Silver, Sapphire Blue, Brilliant Black, Ice White, and Solar Red colour options, and will launch worldwide from this month, with some markets getting it next week, and others in June.

The smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 chipset. There's also the usual array of NFC, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi support as well as a fingerprint sensor, light sensor, proximity sensor, magnetic sensor, and gyroscope.

As far as the camera is concerned, HTC U11 12MP "ultra-pixel" camera with ultra-speed auto-focus and 5-axis optical image stabilisation and electric image stabilisation technology. There is a 3,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.

Its measurements are 153.9 x 75.9 x 7.9mm, and it weighs 169g. Speaking of the latter, the HTC U11 has been stuffed with 3 AIs in the form of Google Assistant, Alexa, and the company's own Sense Companion. The frame of the device detects the pressure from the fingers instead of touch. Users can navigate the new features and functions of HTC U11 by scrolling and squeezing the handset. It includes BoomSound for Hi-Fi audio output and 3D Audio recording with the four microphones. The OS for the smartphone is Android 7.0 with HTC Sense over the top. In terms of connectivity, there's a USB-C port, but no sign of a 3.5mm headphone jack. What should be the right price tag for this device? We can only comment on the practicality once we try it out, however.
