Trump says he's brought 'profound change' to Washington

President Donald Trump on Saturday marked his 100th day in office by claiming historic action on his agenda, renewing promises on health care and taxes and attacking the news media for misleading Americans.

During an evening trip to Pennsylvania, one of the states that propelled his unlikely election victory, Trump planned to sign an executive order directing the Commerce Department and the US trade representative to conduct a study of USA trade agreements.

The aim is to determine whether America is being treated fairly by its trading partners and the 164-nation World Trade Organization.

Celine McNicholas for the Economic Policy Institute: "In his first 100 days in office, President Trump has continued to talk about creating 'jobs where Americans prosper and grow.' However, his actions during that time tell a different story".

The president noted he was the first president in modern political era to confirm a Supreme Court Justice in his first 100 days with the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch early April.

Trump will cut a "bad deal" for the American and Filipino people if he fetes Duterte with a White House reception without assessing the implications "of hosting and toasting a foreign leader whose links to possible crimes against humanity for instigating and inciting extrajudicial killings has already prompted warnings from the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court", Kine said in an email.

"There isn't a day that goes by that the president doesn't discuss some aspect of trade", Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said at the White House Friday. To cheers, he accused the news media of "fake news" and said if their job was to be honest and tell the truth, then they deserved "a big, fat failing grade". I had so many things going. In addition to the visit to the Ames tool factory, which has been manufacturing shovels since 1774, the president will hold one of his signature campaign rallies in Harrisburg to cap the occasion.

The administration argues that unfair competition with China and other trade partners has wiped out millions of US factory jobs.

US and Philippine officials said Trump's calls and invitations to several Asian allies including Duterte were aimed at discussing the crisis over North Korea's nuclear threats. I was thrilled, however, to see President Trump pick up the mantle and approve the pipeline's construction.

At the 100-day mark, polls show that Trump's supporters during the campaign remain largely in his corner.

He listed his achievements during the first 100 days of his presidency, including seeing a Supreme Court nominee confirmed by the Senate, pulling the USA out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade accord, a rising stock market and the easing of regulations on exploration for energy.

The former business mongrel had never worked in politics before taking on the position in the White House.

So far, Trump has signed 30 executive orders on everything from border security to abortion. Since then, they have pushed back on his rewritten travel ban and his attempt to cut federal money for cities that harbor people who are in the United States illegally.

At that point, the late journalist Daniel Schorr summed up Bush this way on NPR's Talk of the Nation: "If you say, what has he done in 100 days, not much". "It put the countries of this world on notice that the sellout of the American worker was over". "In just fourteen weeks, my administration has brought profound change to Washington".
