Deadline reports the network has given a series order to Marvel's The Gifted.

What's really surprising though, is how quickly Singer's been able to throw this show together, as the first teaser was released today after first being announced just a few months ago. X-Men staple Bryan Singer directed the pilot and will also exec produce the 20th Century Fox Television drama. You can also see the show has Amy Acker in it.

Marvel's The Gifted will bring X-Men powers and family drama to Fox this fall.

Are you planning to watch The Gifted? Oh, and Variety noted that Nix, who is writing the show, also wrote for Burn Notice, making me even more excited for this series than the teaser trailer. While details are fairly limited, we do know that Jaime Chung will play the role of Blink, a mutant who recently appeared in Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past as portrayed by Fan Bing Bing.

The show focuses on a suburban couple whose lives are rocked by the discovery that their children possess mutant powers. However, while Legion was intentionally created to stand apart from the cinematic X-Men universe, Nix and Singer have envisioned The Gifted as a companion series to the films that will allow for character crossover. It follows a family that goes on the run when they realise their kids are mutants, and ends up falling in with a group of underground mutants.
