Anyway, the remaster is available through the Windows 10 store today as an Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning your saves will be cross-compatible if you happen to also own an Xbox One. A remake was announced at E3 2015, but has since ceased development. Free games are free games, and I'd feel a bit foolish looking Microsoft's green-skinned gift horse in the mouth. If you missed it as a Games with Gold title, Burnout Paradise is just less than a fiver - and so too are Dead Space and Dead Space 2. Unfortunately, the project was abruptly brought down to a halt with the closure of the developer Darkside Games, but they replaced it with this new port.

Phantom Dust is a Microsoft-developed game, directed by Panzer Dragoon's Yukio Futatsugi. The game combined elements of both third person shooter and card-based gameplay, allowing players to enter the arena via story mode or against three friends in multiplayer action.

News of the re-release first broke during last year's E3 conference and boasted that the game would use the original assets but now support the current ecosystem of Xbox Live. The game's creative director Adam Isgreen said that the game would be updated to add a 16:9 aspect ratio, and support for 1080p or 4K resolution depending on the user's display.
